European Sommelier Training Project

On June 25, 2017, the School concluded the cooperation agreement of the Partner School of European School for Sommeliers in China with IHK Association of European Sommeliers and European School for Sommeliers in Hanover, Germany. It is the first vocational training project of European School for Sommeliers in China since its establishment, and is also its “only” cooperative school in China. So far, the School has officially introduced the international standards of European sommeliers, carried out the training of international sommeliers, and fostered the international sommeliers to provide comprehensive wine high-end service professionals for wine enterprises at home and abroad as well as international high-end brand chain hotels.

The School owns an international teaching team of sommeliers composed of 6 full-time teachers, and each of them is qualified as a junior lecturer. The double-positions teachers account for 100%.

This is a team of teachers shouldering the mission of inheriting culture. Their junior lecturer certificate not only means that they are competent to train junior sommeliers in China, but also accept the appointment by the headquarters of the European School for Sommeliers as international lecturers to offer ESS training in any country in the world, thus shouldering the glorious mission of promoting wine culture to the world.

This is a team of vibrant and enterprising teachers. The full-time teachers are currently working with the headquarters of the European School for Sommeliers to carry out research on paring wine with eight major cuisines in China and local cuisines in southwest ethnic minority areas, and formulate standards for pairing food with wine, so as to promote China's long-standing food culture to major wine consuming countries.

This is also an international team of teachers. All teachers have studied or accepted further education and training abroad, of which two studied in UK and France and four accepted further education and training in USA, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. They provides bilingual teaching in the courses of Wine Culture, Paring Food with Wine, and Basic Etiquette.
